Installing your tracker

These steps are for the self-install FMC880. If you chose the FMC920, our partner RS Connect fits it at your home — you just do step 3.

  1. 1. Power the device

Connect the tracker to your vehicle so it has power. The SIM card is already inside — nothing to insert or activate.

  2. 2. Let it connect

The device must be powered and connected to the network before it can be linked. Give it a few minutes after first power-up.

  3. 3. Link it in the app

In the app, add a vehicle and enter the IMEI — you'll find it printed on the device and on its box.

Frequently asked questions

How do I install the tracker?
If you have the self-install FMC880, connect it to your vehicle and make sure it has power — the SIM card is already included, so there's nothing to activate separately. If you chose the FMC920, our partner RS Connect installs it for you at home, including immobilisation. Either way, once the device is powered and connected, link it in the app.
Where do I find the IMEI?
The IMEI is printed on the tracker itself and on its box. You'll enter it in the app when linking the device to your vehicle.
The app can't find my tracker — what should I check?
The tracker must be powered and connected before you link it. Check the device has power from the vehicle, give it a few minutes to connect after first power-up, and confirm you've entered the IMEI exactly as printed.
Will anti-theft alerts work when my phone is on silent?
Yes. Anti-theft alerts are delivered as critical alerts, which bypass silent mode on both iOS and Android. If the ignition turns on unexpectedly, your phone will sound the alert — usually in under 60 seconds, though delivery time depends on network conditions and isn't guaranteed.
How many vehicles can I track?
Plans cover 1 device (£8.99/month), up to 5 devices (£35.99/month) or up to 20 devices (£125.99/month) as monthly auto-renewing subscriptions. Each vehicle needs its own tracker, and you can manage them all from one account.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us. Open your phone's subscription settings, choose Apex Tracking and cancel — your plan runs to the end of the paid period.
Whose vehicles am I allowed to track?
Only vehicles you own or have legal authority over. Apex Tracking must not be used to covertly track other people, and you're responsible for using it lawfully.
